SARA DROUGHT NEBEL
The Landscape and That
“But how does one feel?
One grows used to the weather,
The landscape and that;
And the sublime comes down
To the spirit itself…”
--Wallace Stevens |
You can look at a Sara Drought Nebel painting of a Madison beach house a hundred times and get something new from it each time. Every house floats in Sara’s unique palette, bold but restrained. We wanted to share with you four of our favorites.
Sara works at, and is a proud artist member of, the Lyme Art Association, which is right next door to, and a child of, the Florence Griswold Museum. Classes taught by Sara Drought Nebel will begin after a Spring Open Studio, Sunday, April 8th 1-5pm, at her Treefort Studio on Fort Path Rd. in Madison. Classes begin on Monday, April 9th.
In an email to us Sara said, “In Art Meditation classes I teach drawing, painting, studying and drawing small objects in nature and calligraphy as a meditation in Observational Mindfulness. And promote my other passion, Solitary Walking… at sunrise and sunset, in nature. Classes begin April 9th.” Sara has added to her repertoire, with regard to weddings and events - in addition to calligraphy, she now does custom wedding artistry and on-site wedding paintings.
