IMPERIAL DECORATING AND UPHOLSTERY

When the most valuable antique chairs and sofas need reupholstering in Connecticut, they often end up at Imperial Decorating and Upholstery in West Hartford. Since 1932, four generations of the Gallinoto family have dedicated themselves to continuing the craftsmanship that was taken for granted in the Old World but is so hard to find today.
Besides upholstery, Imperial’s expertise includes frame repair, horse hair, hand-stitched edges, tufting, channel backs, leather, coil springs and nail head trim. Caning, rush, Shaker and Danish cord seating are also done on the premises. Imperial maintains a 5,000 square foot building that includes an extensive fabric showroom.
