GAMBREL ACRES:

THE BENCHMARK OF EXCELLENCE IN PERIOD WINDOWS

Gambrel Acres

The story of Gambrel Acres is a tale of steady and exacting workmanship over decades of time. In 1985 a man named Gordon Brennan and his son, also Gordon Brennan, built a rustic shop together in the country outside Danielson. For thirty years the father and the son worked together, building fine period style antique windows for demanding contractors, architects and private clients.  Since the elder Gordon Brennan died in 2015, his son has continued to work at the shop, alone, crafting fine period windows. Gambrel Acres windows are of such a high level of quality they were chosen to go into the 1750 Ebenezer Avery House on the grounds of the Fort Griswold Battlefield State Park at Groton. The photos accompanying this article are from four private residences in eastern Connecticut.

The world has gone through a lot of turmoil and change since 1985. Two things that have not changed over all this time are the rustic shop in the country and the dedication to craftsmanship practiced within.
