  COLONIAL DAY

Saturday, September 15, a fine sunny day, marked the 8th annual observation of Colonial Day in Hebron. The demonstration barns and sheds at Country Carpenters headquarters were turned into Hebron of Colonial times for the day. Local folk dressed in period garb worked away on old-time crafts while hundreds of families wandered through.

This year’s event featured a weaver, a furniture maker, a group of quilters, a potter, a broom maker, and a father and son blacksmith team. Also on hand was an old- time preacher, along with a Colonial-times school teacher to explain what everyday life was like back in the day. A lone Indian exhibited period Native American crafts, while Colonial-era arms were displayed and demonstrated, and two British soldiers from the Revolutionary War scouted about in the background.
