  1692 BUTTOLPH-WILLIAMS HOUSE, WETHERSFIELD

The Buttolph-Williams house, built ca. 1692, was occupied first by David Buttolph and then in the eighteenth century by Daniel Williams.

Whitewashed kitchen of the Buttolph-Williams house. The interior of the house required relatively little architectural restoration. Appropriate furnishings of the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries have been installed.

Whitewashed south chamber of the Buttolph-Williams house. The fireplace surround is painted the original red. One of the two handsome banister-back armchairs, ca. 1710, has Spanish feet. The English delft and brass sconces and candlesticks are of the early eighteenth century.
